Cllr Andrew Munro
Chairman
Alongside my career as a teacher, community educator and Local Authority Education Officer, now retired, I have a long track record of engagement with the voluntary sector in Kibworth. I have been the Chair of Governors at both local schools and am currently the Chair of Governors at a primary school in Wigston.
Having lived in Kibworth for around 50 years, I have been involved in a variety of fund-raising projects ranging from the Kibworth Carnival, events at St. Wilfrid's Church, the Village Hall and I was a founder member of Kibworth Primary School Parents Association. I was the driving force behind the creation of Kibworth Drama Group (now based in Great Glen) and I have been a parish councillor for Kibworth Beauchamp for around 10 years. I am particularly interested in issues surrounding young people in the village and my professional youthwork/community/family learning background has led to an ongoing commitment to individuals and families in challenging circumstances.
I am currently Chairman of KBPC and am firmly committed to the enhancement of the quality of life in our village, "from the cradle to the grave," through the work of the Parish Council as its responsibilities continue to develop and broaden.
